Tropic Thunder Teaser Out on August 15th, 2008

Directed By Ben Stiller
Written By Etan Cohen, Justin Theroux

Starring
Ben Stiller
Jack Black
Robert Downey Jr.
Nick Nolte

The first teaser for TROPIC THUNDER has appeared at the official site. While this is just a short teaser with very little real footage in it, I still think it looks like it’ll be pretty funny. We got some Ben Stiller (he also directed), Jack Black, Robert Downey Jr. looking a lot like he’s a black dude, and Nick Nolte because Gary Busey was busy.

Oh, and this one’s got some profanities up in it, so heads up.

TROPIC THUNDER is set to open August 15th.

Street Kings Out on April 11th, 2008

Directed By David Ayer
Written By James Ellroy

Starring
Keanu Reeves
Forest Whitaker
Hugh Laurie
Chris Evans

This movie may very well be the secret sequel to TRAINING DAY. Or maybe should have been. The dude who wrote TRAINING DAY ( David Ayer) directed this one. STREET KINGS stars Keanu Reeves as a cop who’s been implicated in the murder of a fellow officer. Also stars Forest Whitaker, Hugh Laurie (sweet), Chris Evans and Common.

I wonder if we could set up a button on this site that would allow users to tell NetFlix to “send this to me when it becomes available”. So many movies fall into this realm.

STREET KINGS opens on April 11th.

Righteous Kill Out on September 12, 2008

Directed By Jon Avnet
Written By Russell Gewirtz

Starring
Robert DeNiro
Al Pacino
Carla Gugino
50 Cent
Donnie Wahlberg

DeNiro and Pacino are together again for RIGHTEOUS KILL, a movie about two veteran New York cops hunting down a killer who targets bad guys. He might be a cop… he might even be… nevermind.

Also starring are Donnie Wahlberg and Carla Gugino. To be honest, I’d be up for watching almost any plot develop if it meant DeNiro and Pacino on screen at the same time.

RIGHTEOUS KILL opens September 12th.

So What HAPPENED?

I’m Adam, and I run this place. The site was going on strong and building a pretty darn solid readership, and then it went nearly silent (my thanks to Ryan for keeping things less sparse). But why?

Well, in short, I was recently told I might have the cancer. I had a long month or so during which I would spend my free time trying to avoid thinking about it, and oddly enough, working on Holy Trailer! wasn’t doing it for me. I sought out other means of distraction and diversion. It was a good time in my life, but the site suffered.

Fortunately, I don’t have cancer and presumably have a long life to live. Which is, you know, awesome.

So! The trailer attack is going to be going pretty strong from here on out. Lots of ground to regain, so forgive me if you see some old trailers getting their mention on the site.

Sorry for the lull, and I do appreciate your visits here more than you know. Back to battle…

The Forbidden Kingdom Out on April 18th, 2008

Directed By Rob Minkoff
Written By John Fusco

Starring
Jackie Chan
Jet Li
Michael A. Angarano

I got no kung fu. None. But pretty much everyone out there enjoys watching either Jackie Chan or Jet Li get their kung fu on. What if they made a move TOGETHER? THE FORBIDDEN KINGDOM is just such a film.

The storyline looks fairly bland. White teenager looking for bootleg kung fu DVDs (and who hasn’t done that?), gets sucked into ancient China to save someone (Monkey King) from someone else (Jade Warlord) and then try to figure out how to get back to reality.

Wo Ping ( THE MATRIX and CROUCHING TIGER HIDDEN DRAGON ) does the action choreography for this one and the visuals look pretty good. And yes, Li and Chan go at it at least once… so that alone is worth my 10 bucks.

THE FORBIDDEN KINGDOM starts April 18th
